First yoga class!

I'm going to my first ever yoga class later this morning. I am assured it will be very good for me. Mizz Kaz, I will let you know if it's suitable for ladies with scars and what not. I imagine it is, but I'll check.

  1. I tried a yoga class earlier this year and I liked it. I know it sounds stupid but sometimes breathing properly is really helpful! My only problem with it was that I kept falling asleep during the relaxing/cooldown session at the end.

  2. betty, the same thing happens to me. at least i don't snore, like the other person who always falls asleep.

    FMC, it took me a half-dozen classes to figure out WTF was going on and to get into the rhythm, so don't despair if it feels weird the first run-through.

    then again, you've already got memnoch's breathing lessons behind you so you're ahead of the game. hope it was fun!

  3. Nope, took to it like a duck to water, my friend said I was naturaly flexible and my breathing technique was 'quite' good. I've got good upper body stength from kettlebell training and weights so a lot of the poses were easy enough for me. But I's say I could do with some serious stretching work.
    I'm going to give it a go for a while, build up the core strength. Feeling quite dandy I have to say, even if I was slagged off for looking fierce when I concentrate. (it's true, I was ordering my wobbling upraised leg to stop wobbling when she caught me) Practically pranced out of there afterwards too. Nice.

  5. Cool, it sounds like fun. Breathing and stretching sounds more to my liking than lifting heavy things and straining jiggery-pokery stiches that don't need to be strained!

    I might give it a go now. I'm not flexible or fit or anything at all, but maybe there might be beginners classes.
