Late and grouchy.
I'm late for yoga. Also I am tired and ferociously grouchy. The paramour has a cold, ergo the paramour snores, even when he is lying on his face.
Imagine, if you will, the most annoying sound in the world that starts at the lower end of the scale but gradually builds up so that nearby car alarms start going off and dogs howls in distress, oh yea, if you can imagine that you can imagine what sleeping-or not as the case might be- next to might do to a person who is not the heaviest sleeper at the best of non drugged times.
Does anyone one have a rememdy -apart from murder/sleeping in a different room- to snoring? Do those strip things work? Has anyone ever used them? Is there ANYTHING that might help?

the Snores of Congestion are the worst. they're annoying, but they also approach the point of such ridiculousness that i can't help giggling, which isn't conducive to sleep either.
i too await another answer because the only thing that works for me is fleeing.
Kill him - NOW!
I live with a snorer, if I don't get to sleep before him I'm doomed to lie there seething listening to that godawful sound.
Hope this is temporary for you, if not, get the strips they do work if you can get the stubborn bastards to wear them.
Boliath is right(about the strips that is) they do work or at least that's what I'm told as I was the snorer.I also lost a fair bit of weight and that helped a bit too.
I don't think you should be the one fleeing from the snoring though.Make him kip in the spare room or couch.Reaquaint him with his sleeping bag because you shouldn't have to suffer that.
Nice and measured Boliath, I like it.
Welcome miss ell, pillow over the face you say, we'll see how tonight goes.
Poor thing, he's ever so apologetic about it. I feel rather bad bitching about it in the cold light of day, but at half four in the morning I feel like taking one of my shoes and jamming it in his larnyx.
I am going to buy strips this afternoon and see if that works, if not he can stay at his house until the cold is gone.
This rather confirms for me what I always suspected. I love having a financé and all that hooie, but I rather like sleeping and not worrying about toilet seats and newspaper ink and what not. I suspect, and I don't mind admitting it to you ladies, that deep down I like having my own place, my own space and well, there you have it.
You could try going deaf, FMC.
I hope the strips work! Let me know the result. Boliath is right. If you don't fall asleep first, you're doomed...
ALso, yes, the one thing about being married that I still don't like is not living alone. I LOVED that little one bedroom apartment I had, a 2 minute walk to my local, a 15 minute walk to work, and with my own little garden. If I had it to do over...I wonder...
The KEY to a happy marriage is ear plugs.
Yes, John, it is. I've been wearing ear plugs for the last couple of years and the quality of sleep is heavenly. Plus, I don't get woken up by windstorms, rain, cat fights, etc. And the BEST part of all is that, since I can't hear my alarm clock, hubby gets woken up when mine goes off and he has to wake me up. Seems only fair, doesn't it? Ah yes, good sleep AND revenge. Doesn't get any better than that. (24 years married yesterday, by the way)
Congratulations Missus! Ear plugs you say, right-ho. Lemmie try the strips first and if that fails earplugs it is.

haha
From hearsay the only way the strips work is if you use some to tape his mouth shut and roll the rest up as earplugs. Then put him in the fridge.
I use to pinch my fella's nose so it disturbed his sleep enough that he'd turn over and that generally stopped him... until the night I held it for too long and he woke up yelping that he'd had a terrible dream someone was trying to smother him...
...oops...
Damn! Here was I, trying to catch up and my eyes fly right away to the post entitled "Late and Grouchy". My first thought was, is she? Cooooool! Mrs SafeT has had a baby recently but none of us personally and I couldn't help but get a wee bit excited.
I decamped and set myself up in entirely another room 'cos of the Problem Husband's snoring. I get insomnia from time to time anyway but last year, after 9 years of increasingly murderous feelings, I gave up, and now they are almost entirely gone.
We tried everything, pillows, nosestrips, having him sleep on his side and the rest but the only thing that did help was wearing earplugs. Unfortunately that meant I couldn't hear the children either if they woke in the night and so we parted. I can't say it did us any real harm.
Sweet jalutha! I don't mean that kind of late, nuh huh, no seriee bob. Not this fatcat. There will be no 'surprises' until this cat is well and truly firmly and legally married. Which may never happen unless the snoring thingie is resolved. Different room you say? Sounds novel, then you can just make dates for the sex, sound even novel-er. Lemmie think about that. It fits right in thre with my different bathrooms idea.
