Oh, pleeeeease tell me some idiot with an allergy to fish brought the cod home, ate it, rushed to the hospital, then brought a lawsuit against the distributor for poor labeling practices.

Can you be allergic to fish?

I doubt Tesco pre-packaged cod contains enough fish to trigger an allergic reaction.

It's just two plain white fillets, no sauces or breadcrumb or anything else, just two rather dull chunks of white pretty bland fish. So when I read 'contains fish' I had a complete Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy moment

Allergy advice on the back of a packet of nuts (can't remember if they were Tesco brand or not) "Contains nuts". Not kidding.

Also, on the back of my shampoo bottle, "Do not consume".

Does anyone else feel society getting dumber?

My mistake. I was picturing a Tesco version of Donegal Catch fresh from the Pacific Ocean.

We should just start putting, 'is food' and 'is not food' on all our packaging and be done with it.

They have to do it by law now because otherwise the claim society that we live in actually would claim because they ate a fish fillet and because it didn't have a warning on it they "didn't realise" it was actually fish. It's ridiculous. Also ridiculous and coming under the heading of stupidity of society and their food: A gobshite I once lived with would throw food away at will because of the sell by date, which they also have to put on food even though most of the time it's not necessary. I used to regularly fish whole bags of fruit out of the bin which were perfect, she wouldn't use the old survival instinct when it came to food, you know, smell it , if it smells bad then throw it out, "if in doubt throw it out" etc. She was a terrible idiot though so maybe she was the only one who did it. God, even thinking about her now makes me seethe!

Yes FMC, and to make extra sure that not even the most dim of people will screw it up, we should write the directions in LOLCAT.

'I can haz to eat?-Yes!'

or

'I can no has, is not cheezeburger.'

I am waiting for signs to appear on metered parks, 'Please refrain from eating the parking meter.'And when that happens I shall resign from the human race.

It's like that salica gel or whatever it's called that you get in your new handbag, "do not eat - throw away" it declares, who do they think they are telling us what to do, I know I defo have a few sachets of salica hanging around waiting to poison people! :)

You could sprinkle it on their chips Babs.
Conan, if they can't see that two pieces of fish contain actual fish I'm not too sure a picture of a fish would really convince them.

With the state I was in down the local chipper the other week I am surprised I didn't sprinkle it on my own such were my salt cravings and double vision from too many shiraz's in the pub!!
Pictograms on packaging - I love it.
I don't have a carton of milk handy but if anyone does can they check if there is an ingredients listing, "Contents: Juice of One Cow". People are more stupid than you think.

I'm convinced most folks don't read the labels. Now I have to fight the old folks at the market.

I would rather rip out my eyelashes.

Why are you battling the aged? Have they crossed you in some manner? Be careful they usually carry brollies and sharp pens.
