motivation for fatcats and possibly fatcat chumlies.

Urgh.If there's anything worse than being woken up on a rainy Saturday to the less than dulcet warbling of Dvid bloody Bowie I'd like to know what it could possibly be. Honestly 'in the heat of the morning' sounds like the bigger of the cats trying to get out a locked back door to me. Vile. Curse the paramour and his musical affections. But at least he made coffee and he swears he's about to make breakfast so I suppose I'll try to over look that wonky-eyed crooner for another while, at least until it becomes nails on a blackboard.
Ahoy! I have a confession to make, I have had a lazy arsed week and now I feel shame. Shame I tell you. I haven't been to the gym, I ran only once, a poodly noodly 12k that my dead Gamma could have done in her heels and mink. Naturally this will be the week everyone else has been amazing and energised and fantabulous and my shame will grow.
Next week will be better, next week I will go back to work and back to the gym and back to being good about food and hooch and what not. Next week. I pinky swear it.
Oh fuck this, now he's listening to Lloyd Cole, not even breakfast is worth that.

Get back to the gym fast to get it all off your chest (David Bowie. Its a great way to release pressure and take your stress levels down, however not sure about Cole helping - must be trying to drive you over the edge.

I believe he is. And still no breakfast! Puddy and I are practically wasting away here. What am I supposed to do? Make it myself?

Hey leave Lloyd alone, I think he was a hottie in his day!!

Apart from some swimming I did nothing this week as I injured myself, but one enormous needle and lots of tears later I am much better. I am off to Asia tomorrow for a few days so probably won’t get much done there plus the food is splendid so I’ll possibly come back a tuber!

Am feeling alot better. Still a bit sore, but much much much better. Can't believe how itchy I am to get back there (considering I am world's laziest woman).

Have a safe trip Nonny, you lucky sucker. I wish I was going somewhere nice.

LK, you'll be like a new women after the rest. It's true about being restless, I get a bit twitchy after a week or two of being idle, although I'm quite convinced my lazy streak is more of a lazy blaze. But take the time and come back swinging.

Meh, it’s work, 14hrs on a plane with your boss, how lucky is that I ask!! Cheers anywho and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Oh and on the peril of your life please refrain from giving Major those purple trousers. Think of the children and indeed the tourists.

Take Care folks

Last Saturday I did a pitiful 7 miles, had to stop 3 times to walk, but then I was anticipating all the work left to do for a party later that evening. That's the excuse I'm going with, anyway.
After the weekend, I was stricken with the snot monster, and only cranked out 10 miles on the bike over two days, and a half hour of yoga another day.
Blowing my nose must have burned some calories.

Today I think I'm doing an easy 5k, then an easy 10k tomorrow just to get back in the swing of things.

Poor old darling, colds are misery making. But well done on actually exercising and making exercise plans. OH I"m really really lazy this week. Does eating jelly babies count as an exercise?

Have fun, Nonny, sounds fab.

Children's birthday party last Saturday left me pretty much knackered for the weekend in terms of exercise. Piggy backs were given and verterbrae crushed.

Monday, 1/2 hour on eliptical at gym. Not time for anything else.
Tuesday, nowt
Wednesday, nowt
Thursday, 1/2 hour on eliptical
Friday, nowt.

Pah! Wrote a comment, and blogger ate the fucker.

I'll recap:

I LUUURRRVVV Lloyd Cole. I'm with Nonny on this one. He was, is, always will be a hottie. Lives in the area now, and I saw him a few years ago at a local club - he was fab. Still putting out great records and I have them all. Mwah!

Bad workout week. Didn't feel well. Not sick, just achy and fatigued, couldn't get my arse out of bed in time. Back on track today. Will do yoga warm-up, tons of cardio - kick my own arse, if you will, and same tomorrow. Back to my weekday routine this week, she says hopefully.

Think I'll use "Rattlesnakes" for today's cardio...

Hi FMC! I've been swimming, swimming and more swimming. Was really inspired by John Mc's triathlon so for the first time ever in my life I swam, cycled and ran last Monday! It wasn't planned but it felt great. Only small amounts of each but it felt great to be doing it. There were breaks (like half a day!) between the swimming and the other two disciplines but just to say I did it was good. I did it Thursday aswell but like I said the three disciplines were well spread out. Meeting a coach on Tuesday to help me. :-) All going well now and feeling good. Are you doing the women's mini marathon this year FMC?

the week started out great, and then it all hit the proverbial fan, what with some health issues and finals week. BUT, excepting for a doctor's appoint or two next week, i'll be back on schedule monday....

mon: swam - drills, 250 m, 100m cool down, 20 minutes of running, liting, and 5 miles on the bike.

tues: hour of yoga

wed: same swim and run as mon, lifting, and an hour of yoga...

and then it all went downhill and i've done nowt but paperwork, schedule appointments, and lay on the couch. bah.

Eating jelly babies counts as exercise. All that chewing has to add up to something.

Turns out 3 miles today--even an easy-does-it 3 miles-- was not a great idea physically. Gasping for air and fighting the snot is a lethal combination. Hopefully it will work some magic mentally and I'll be back in the swing of things this week.

Here I am, three weeks from race day, and my motivation is drying up. Any tips?

Andraste I don't mind LOOKING at Lloyd at all. He sort of reminds me of Tim Robbins.

Sam, that comes under heavy duty lifting in my book.

Grims, I think you should actually give yourself a few days off and let the cold run its course fully if you can. Lots of rest, plenty of water and oranges and fruit and then as soon as you feel your old self hit the training again. You'll be feeling much more motivated and up for it if you can breath Darling, much more.

Aisling, as I always tell anyone who can swim well, my envy is boundless. I am signed up the the Flora, so I'd better stop stuffing my face and lolling around. My aim is under the hour maybe even try for 55 mins!! Hah! Even typing that makes me laugh, but sure what the hell, I'll give it a bash. John's time was pretty bloody amazing, I wonder how his legs felt this week.

You are the only woman I know who does not go weak in the knees at David Bowie, FMC.

We skipped the gym this week and I don't feel guilty.

The pups graduated from obedience school this morning and then to celebrate I fried them up an egg each. They lurved it.

Thank you Sam. Running around with the little pets is the best exercise. You go to the gym and you wake up the next morning with a specific pain, run around with the kids and you get pains in places you didn’t even know you had. You lie down that night and your back starts to crack from the relief, it is an amazingly horrid feeling altogether.

Andreste, he lives in the area!! The next time I’m in Boston we can stalk him, make banners and sit outside his house and such. Is he still hot?

I think he's still hot, Nonny. Same looks, but with lovely graying hair, which I like. Not sure where he lives exactly, I think it might be some town west of here... for all I know it's MILES away, like near the NY border, but I consider everything east of the Berkshires as 'the area.' Since I'm more mobile these days, and have my own wheels, everything is 'close enough.'

He sounds great, too. "Antidepressant" has sparks of brilliance, lyrically. Me likey.

Medbh - I don't go weak in the knees at le Bowie. Except for "Life on Mars," I think he's rather dull. I was backstage at a Bowie/Nine Inch Nails show a while back, and I stood about 3 feet from him at some points, while schmoozing with some local musician who was in his band at the time, who was a friend of a friend. I didn't find him sexy, and I thought the show was dull, dull, dull. Interesting factoid, though - he comes off as so tall in photos and videos, but would you believe, he's very, very short? Only about 5 foot 7, at most.

Okay, here endeth the name dropping for the day.

He's winchy, very small. I had to see him in the Olympia once, well I saw exactly two songs then I left and walked to a girl's flat to watch The Ghost And the Darkness, a truly terrible film, but better than having to stand around and watch Bowie all evening. Plus my back was aching because he'd left us 'waiting' for the show to start for almost an hour.
I like one or two of his songs, but I draw the line at early Satdee morning.

Pat, I don't mind Queen Bitch and ABsolute Beginners, but the paramour has all his more obscure early stuff that I find hard to take early in the morning. Not that I say anything, I just grit my teeth and go down stairs to my office. And bitch about it to here.
