Mirror mirror on the wall.
Well? Could you go a whole day without looking in a mirror?
I don't seem to be able to pull this off. Although I might try again tomorrow out of curiosity. I looked in the mirror when I got up, I looked when I brushed my teeth this morning, and I looked at myself in the mirror over the fireplace when I can into my office. I'll be in the gym later and for sure I'll be looking at my lobster head then too. But is it vanity or is it habit or is it curiosity?

I could probably do it on holiday, but it would be difficult. You need to be able to see what is going on with your hair when you dry it! On a working day basis it would be impossible, you might go out with stuff on inside out, or mascara panda eyes,or patchy lip gloss - especially if you get up really early and are not quite with it in the mornings (me - I am not good in the morning!)
When I was a student I'm pretty sure I went weeks without looking in the mirror...
I'm not good in the morning either, and quite frankly my hair is not my own until I wash it.
Sheepworrier, I bet you didn't.
it's harder than you think! i've been working on an as-needed basis with a wilderness therapy group... so i work in the 'great outdoors' for up to 8 days at a time, all without a mirror. you get used to it, but mostly because as a staff member you know that it's temporary. the kids out there are a different story - they do just about all they can to catch a reflection after about 2 weeks... cleaning the bottoms of their cookpots, etc. when they finally come in from the field (about 60 days later) they flock to the vehicle and check out their reflection in the windows....
so long story short, i think looking in the mirror in a way helps our confidence... confirming that we don't have stuff in our teeth, hair way out of place, etc.
It's an interesting challenge but I know I'd fail it. I'm always checking my skin and hair.
We should just try it tomorrow and see how long we last.
I didn't look in the miror for two whole days back in March, because I had shingles and looked like the elephant man. Every time I looked in the mirror I cried so I just turned them all around...thank god I am back to normal now...
Ooohh, shingles, poor thing, so horribly tingly and painful. Gamma had them one and they were hideous.
