No Really, Fuck you PETA.
The following is what that nut job Ingrid Newkirk send to the NY times,
To the Editor:
Editorial Observer: What’s Next in the Law? The Unalienable Rights of Chimps (July 14, 2008)
“What’s Next in the Law? The Unalienable Rights of Chimps,” by Adam Cohen (Editorial Observer, July 14), unfairly characterized PETA’s efforts.
Few people know the depth of our work, as it is mostly our stunts that make the news. While cruelty to animals is a serious matter that should elicit widespread public outrage, efforts to reach the public through more serious means often fall on deaf ears in a world in which sex sells and there are both a war and an economic downturn.
By comparing the common mind-set that has produced both the past injustices against humans and the current abuses of animals, we can and do inspire debate and convince many people that it is a human obligation to speak out against injustice to all beings.
Animal suffering and human suffering are undeniably interconnected. In 2004, for example, The New York Times broke the story about a PETA undercover investigation that found routine animal abuse at AgriProcessors kosher slaughterhouse. Since then, the paper has repeatedly reported on the abuse of migrant workers at AgriProcessors. It should come as no surprise that a facility that profits from tormenting and killing animals would also oppress and abuse humans.
Those of us who have worked in the field as social service staff members or humane law enforcement officers know that child abuse and animal abuse as well as battered women and battered companion animals are often found under the same roof.
Forgive us our bikinis and our shock tactics, but our message that all beings — both human and nonhuman — deserve compassion and respect is one that we must work hard to make heard.

President, People for the Ethical
Treatment of Animals

Yep nothing says respect more than topless women in cages, EVERYONE knows that. Or telling people that feeding their children meat is child abuse. So RESPECTFUL. Or killing perfectly healthy viable animals rather than allow them to become pets, yep Ingrid, you sure got their best interests at heart there.

A surname like Newkirk must give a person notions. Next thing they're dreaming up cunning topless stunts from morning to night.
Make that a steak tartare, please.
She's a fundamentalist Conan, and fundies are always filled with the Devil's smegma.
She's a fucking cunt is what she is.
Does she ever do these topless/naked stunts herself?
Why would you put that image in my head Conan... why?
They are quite mental aren’t they. They are clearly exploiting the "sex sells" mentality. Saying feeding children meat is child abuse is a bit ridiculous. Grant it I’d put most meats in the same bracket as junk food I wouldn’t deny the little blighters meat.

The fucking Romanians have more rights in this country than animals
I fucking hate PETA. Not only are they horrible sexists who constantly equate women with animals, but they have produced ads linking animal cruelty to human slavery and genocide. The poster that juxtaposed an elephant's chained ankle with a human's chained ankle was one of the most offensive ads I've ever seen. I love animals and cruelty towards them sickens and enrages me, and I donate to animal charities, but I donate to far more human ones and I don't pretend that animal rights are as important as human rights. Which is basically PETA's entire premise.
This makes me want a really huge beefburger, eaten while wrapped in a mink/dog/cat/feather/fishskin coat. Zealots always make me want to do the exact opposite of what they are preaching, even when I share some of their views. Anyone with half a brain doesn't need an exhibitionist on a soapbox telling them what to think.
whether founded or not, i've heard rumours of PETA actually euthanizing animals themselves for whatever reason.
i had a friend who was a part of a local campus chapter, and left because they were too extreme. they'd be better off with rational, logical arguments anyway.
grrrr.
You know what though, people that don't eat meat are bombarded with meat advertisements constantly so if they would just tone down their adds a tad I would be happy and they wouldn't bother me in the slightest. In all my life I have never moaned at people who ate meat but I when people discover I don't eat meat you always get some intellectually retarded cunt with their, "I'd love a bloody stake" or "I don’t give a shit about baby lambs I’d still eat them ". This doesn't bother me it just makes me think they are a bit thick. The only thing I would have done to provoke them would be simply say I don’t eat meat. So I ‘d kinda like a bit of healthy competition. You get all these fuckers with their you need to eat meant waffle yet if you ask them the nutritional content of a particular meat they haven’t a clue.

Was it PETA who dug up a human grave over in England to terrorize the manager of a local animal testing facility?
She's a lap cat of the patriarchy, for sure.
And a serious piece of shit.
You can read up about PETA and their compassion
here
I think they should use me in their campaigns. The sight of me topless on O'Connell street would put anybody off their steak.
Or run for the gravy boat?
Yeah but this is worse,

Sweet jeebus, FMC. That link had some seriously disturbing information.
PETA's a ghastly organization.
They are Medbh, they really are. Filthy hypocrites.
Pamela Anderson is their spokeswoman - that's all I need to know.
She of the sheepskin Ugg boots.
ah FMC, that article you put up a link to seems fairly biased.
Original quote :
I went to the front office all the time, and I would say, "John is kicking the dogs and putting them into freezers." Or I would say, "They are stepping on the animals, crushing them like grapes, and they don't care." In the end, I would go to work early, before anyone got there, and I would just kill the animals myself. Because I couldn't stand to let them go through that. I must have killed a thousand of them, sometimes dozens every day. Some of those people would take pleasure in making them suffer. Driving home every night, I would cry just thinking about it. And I just felt, to my bones, this cannot be right
quote from your link :
Newkirk unabashedly describes her zeal for killing in her own words: "I'd go to work early, before anyone got there, and I would just kill the animals myself...I must have killed a thousand of them, sometimes dozens every day."
Bit of a difference there.
She's a lap cat of the patriarchy, for sure.
Oh FFS . . . as Shebah said
Zealots always make me want to do the exact opposite of what they are preaching, even when I share some of their views.
Aye Morgor, there's a few changes, no doubt about it but she's still a humongous hypocrite.
I'm part of forum elsewhere where a number of vets in Colorado openly testified to some of PETAs carrying ons with regards to rehoming shelter animals. Ingrid herself was forced to release a statement about their kill policy. She's very quick to destroy companion animals because she doesn't believe people should 'own' animals.
oh yeah, she sounds like a complete asshole alright
i've been thinking about this, and you know, if the women had been clothed, it would have actually been a somewhat witty ad campaign.
but the whole not believing in owning animals? obviously she's never had a pet - i seem to exist to feed, water, walk, and entertain the animals... i don't own them, i'm their personal assistant.
Oh darling I hear you. I've just picked Puddy up from the vet, I'll be eating flavoured rice for the rest of this month.
They really are nuts. I'm vegetarian and all for animal rights but I accept that most people don't feel the same way. I don't expect everyone to become vegetarian. It would be great but it would never happen. I'd be happy if we could just achieve better standards in slaughter houses and stop cosmetic testing. PETA is totally hypocritical. Stunts like that aren't going to get them taken seriously. It may have been a decent campaign if the women had clothes on .
