Motivation for fatcats and possibly chumlies of fatcats!

Sunday- 5 mile park

Monday 10k hilly road work.

Tuesday- 10k rowing, 52:08. ( I WILL attempt to shave those two minutes off next week. Damn them, I thought I was going to bloody vomit on the last 1000m) 30k bicep pulldowns x10x3
Upper back rows, 35k x8x3

Wednesday- !0k bicep curls x3x10 This went really well. No wobbble in the last set. Huzzah! Push press 18kx3x10 , Flys 5kx3x1o each arm. Ouch.
Bike one hour, 20k. I hate those bikes.

Thursday-Much running, splits, finally getting some speed into the mix. !0k, but out of the comfort zone for every second kilometre. 20 mins on the bike.

Friday- nowt, lot of bloody walking in town. Hardly counts though.

Sat- heading off, hope everyone has a good weekend.

Feeling a little tired after this read. Think of the healthy benefits you have provided your body with.
You have a nice weekend too.

I tried to run this week, I really did. But it didn't work. I did a little more damage to those knee-area ligaments than I originally thought.
So instead, I walked a lot every day but Monday. Set the incline way up on the treadmill and "hiked" for a while. Set the resistance high on the bars attached to the treadmill and did that for a while. Did pilates.
Knees feeling less sore on trips down the stairs, so I'll try out the running again soon.
This is incredibly frustrating...

Have a lovely weekend!

A good week for me, finally!

Nothing last weekend because of the traveling, but...

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, able to get out of bed early, and do at least a half hour on the elliptical, plus various ab wheel, lunges, squats, leg lifts, blah, blah, blah - before work.

Today and tomorrow at least an hour or more on the elliptical- maybe some bike just for variety, tons of free weights, etc. - and shoveling snow - lots of it. 4-6 inches overnight and it's still falling.

Preettttyyyyyyyy.....

Would you like more snow? Because we can spare several inches... Then, if you're getting the same system we've been getting for the past few days, you'll end up with plenty. I love the unintentional-exercise component of shoveling, but frankly, at this point I could really do without it.

monday, tuesday and wednesday - three good workouts in the gym. Best week this year. Thursday and Friday, not so good. Still.

Hiya Grims - I'm not nearly as sick of the snow as everybody else seems to be. Yet.

Still - I don't think I need much more. This last few inches got heavy and wet in a hurry and shoveling was no picnic.

But I will NEVER complain about the winters here in New England. It's not right to bitch more than one season every year, and I do all my weather bitching when it's August and I sweat at my own temperature, and can't breathe through the humidity. And man...I am one miserable rabbit then!

I grew up in the south and I was in high school before my parents finally gave in and bought a window A/C unit for ONE room of the house in summer, which lowered the temp to somewhere around the low 80's on the worst days. Sweating? I'm a pro. Withstanding winters that last through half the calendar? Five years in, and I still can't bear it.
I'll hand off the weather-bitching baton to you in June. :)

Monday and Tuesday out of town and lugging gear. Three lots of thirty lengths at pool. And a two hour walk before forgetting that i had been knackered before i started.

Congrats FMC! I was delighted you won! It would have been lovely to meet you, was a great night!

OK week for me, 4 days gym and swim, usual running but eased off Thursday and Friday for a cross country in Belfast that didn't go too well. But you live and learn. I'm just in from a 3 hour run and am stuffing my face with granary toast to try and make myself feel human again. I dream of coffee when I'm running, now I can enjoy one!
Cheers FMC.

an excellent week for me in terms of getting things done in the lab, but a horrible week in terms of exercise and eating right.

i managed to wash all of the glassware and organize the entire lab before recruitment weekend reared it's ugly head, unfortunately this meant coming in around 7 am and leaving around 9 pm. the recruits showed up thursday evening, which meant a lot of wining and dining, and unhealthy food. i feel gross and disgusting after eating all that crap over the weekend, and am looking forward to making the gym a priority this coming week. i'm debating whether or not to try a cycling class, but i figure i should just jump in and do it, rather than worry if i'll be able to keep up.
