motivation for Fatcats and possibly for chumlies of Fatcats!

O to the motherfucking W! My legs are destroyed, my inner thigh muscles have suddenly remembered they exist and they're making sure I don't bloody forget them again by stabbing me brutally every time I take a step or sit or rise. Yeouch.
But enough complaining, as I sit here bobbling my head to 'Would I Lie to you' by the Eurythmics and gaze o'er the top of my 'putor at a glorious blue sky and sun drenched garden I am at peace with the world, and also not moving so no pain. Huzzah for good weather. The paramour has toddled off to play golf with his bro and I am going to open every window in the place and let the warm air circulate through the home as I play one bipitty-bobitty tune after another at quite a decibel. I hope you are having and equally stellar Satdee.

Good luck to miss Grims today in her 10k race, I hope she flies around.

Anyhoo. Monday, Push press ( finally upped the weight) 25k x 10 x3
Bicep curls, 10k x 10 x3
Back hyperextensions- 12 x 3, nice and slow and steady.
Pullups, 20k counter weight on grav, 40 in all broken into 10s as I alternated with the Back Hyperextensions.

Tuesday, gym, running in splits. I ran ten K but split into five minutes at a time running easy for three minutes, and hard for two and repeat. I'm working on stamina here, Stamina, some people haz it, I wants it. This will help ( I keep telling myself)

Wednesday, core yoga work out, nice, can I do a handstand? No I can't, damn it. Went out and did a long slow jog of about 12 kilometres. Easy peasy.

Thursday, kickboxing, 40 weighted squats, Sit ups using 5 kilo medicine ball. finished up with a quick run of 2k.

Friday.- yes. it was. I was also in considerable pain, so taking Conan's advice I went to the pool to 'swim'. This resulted in me floundering up and down it about twenty times at the speed of no kittens, taking on more water than a stricken tanker.
It occurred to me as I hauled my shaking ass out of the pool I really ought to maybe take a class or two and see if I can learn how to swim properly. Not pleasant.

Satdee. My plans are to play music and bob about the place. Maybe potter around the garden if I can convince my legs not to snap. And eat carbs, yes, carbs. Yeah! By monday I ought to be a locked and loaded. I wish I was faster. Seriously, if Finn and Aisling are the Ferraris and Porsche of running I am a Volvo, and not the new sleek ones neither, the old boxy ones that always have a labrador or two panting in the back.

Thanks for the good wishes! They carried me in just at 1:05, which is 2 minutes faster than my best, and just a shade away from that 1-hour mark I was chasing...
FMC, you and the rest have been great motivation to me to keep at it. Thanks so much!!!

Played football on Thursday. Didn't have no more time at all during the week to do any more. This is annoying. I need to get a new job. I'm getting fat.

Another good week, yay for me. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, all good early morning cardio and various yoga stretches, weights, leg stuff, squats, lunges, ab stuff - nothing yesterday and ate an entire eggplant parmesan sub with extra cheese and three glasses of rioja. Blech - so today, I just finished putting in a ton of flowers in my garden and doing some chores around the house and I'm about to do an hour on the elliptical before company comes for a BBQ.

May not do much tomorrow, depending on the violence of the hangover I earn today, but even hungover I usually manage at least 30 minutes of cardio and a couple of lunges. WE shall see.

Ta for good wishes, I'll do my best, and YAY indeed for Grims! A good race AND a PR to boot, well done missus, well done indeed.

for all the races and awesome work outs!

this week? J started a new schedule - nites. which wreaks havoc on my early morning schedule. but, by wednesday i made it out for a 20 minute run with the pup, and yesterday commuted the 11 miles (round trip) to work. and also realized during my commute that while my bike is perfectly suited for climbing and descending mountains, it's not so hot on the road. ok, i already knew that, but i was hoping it would be easier than i had anticipated. it wasn't. so today i'm off to buy a road bike.... run errands, and work in the garden.

Sunday - nada

Tuesday - 35 mile bike ride

Wed - 90 minute indoor wattage training.

Thursday - 3000 meter swim, all 100 metre intervals.

Friday - 40th birthday, endurance drinking ensued when my lovely wife blindfolded me, taxied me to a favorite haunt with an outdoor beer garden, where everyone I knew turned up. Fun and frolics were hand until the wee hours.

Sat - massive hangover, but I ran 5 miles and managed 7.1 minute miles all the way. Must get hammered before my next race and see what happens.

I have entered the San Jose Internation Triathlon next Sat.

Well done to Grims, 2 minutes is lots! FMC your club will have to have a new name with the letters PB in it or PR for the Americans! I've been training like a lunatic and I'm wrecked...because I have a new coach I'm scared to say I'm tired incase he thinks I'm skiving off. I know that sound silly for a grown adult to say. I have a cold and it's making me permanently shattered. God I sound silly now...

My week: 7 swims, 3 runs, 3 cycles. I have a duathlon next Wednesday in Phoenix Park and this new coach will be there looking at me. I'm not expected to do well because I'm so slow on the bike but it's kinda nerve wracking.

FMC thanks for the Porshe analogy (to put me in a similar category to Finn is such a compliment if totally untrue!!!!!)

Happy Birthday to John, another triathlon for you, I'll be watching for tips!

eeep! You've got the bug John. Can't wait to see how you nail this one. and 7.1 on he miles is damn impressive. Maybe the hooch turns to sugar? (she says wishfully)

Aisling, congrats on the new coach. I can't imagine you ever taking it easy, but it must be jittery KNOWING someone is watching and taking notes. However I bet you'll really blossom with one. Good luck in the duathlon. I'm sure you'll fly it-bike and all.

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I had written and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips for inexperienced blog writers? I'd certainly appreciate it.
