Motivation for Fatcats and possibly for Fatcat Chumlies.

Arp, happy Satdee to you. I had a relatively quiet sort of week in terms of exercise, mostly due to extraneous circumstances, or as it is also called, work. But hey ho, next week will be much harder.
So,
Monday, I was in Belgium, no running.

Tuesday, I was SWAMPED work wise, no running, bah.

Wednesday, 10k, finished up running strides in the park, 6 in all. Found a pull up bar in the woods- don't ask. Performed 10 negative pullups. Tee-heed, ran off.

Thursday, 16k Phoenix park. Sun? What's that?

Friday- 1 hour 20 of high octane kickboxing, LOT of bag work, and punch combos, and running, lots and lots of running. Punching off the wobble board too, which makes coughing or sneezing today very amusing in a completely non amusing way.

Today I must help the spaniard move furniture, this involves me doing the moving and her 'directing'. I may take CG's dog out later as he is a mite poorly. CG, not the pooch.

Sunday- I plan my longest run thus far, a 30k whopper!! Assuming I am of sound mind and body of course, which I will be because I'm funny that way.

There is a very visible lack of weights this week, but running came first in a week of time constraints. Next week however, I will up the ante and put in at least two good sessions. Damn time, why can't I bend it to suit my very self?

How you doin'?

30k? Wow! You're my hero! How long does that take you? I'm just trying to build up to 5k but it feels impossible...

I was on full-time pup walking when Mr. M was out of town this week. That meant them dragging my ass out of bed at 6am to go for a 2 hour walk which included them running mad off leash and not listening. Then an hour an a half in the afternoon and one in the evening. Exhausting!

Took my first run since late May last Sunday. An easy 2 miles made my quads super sore the next day. Had planned on running again during the week, but time was tight. Biked a little under 25 miles this week to and fro. May run again today if I don't work up the enthusiasm to bike to the library, will definitely do an easy 3 miler tomorrow.
I did, however, step on the scale for the first time in a long while this week and discovered I'm down another 3lbs. What's that about?
Still haven't figure out if I'm going to do a 10k that's coming up in 4 weeks. Probably ought to get around to deciding on that, huh?

Tina, don't know yet, I'll keep ya posted.
Medbh, ah yes the energetic joy of hounds. And you wanted them so. I'm sure you remind yourself of that every walk time.
Grims, it's a month away, you'll be fine, a couple of 5k and 7 k runs and you'll knock it straight out of the park.

Stipes! I was wondering how the rowing was going, it's tough aint it? I'm going to hit a 5k row on Monday, I'll let you know how I get on. But that was a good time you aced.

Been on vacation, so every workout (Tuesday through today) has been on average a half hour to an hour longer than usual. All the same damn stuff though - elliptical, weights, lunges, squats, etc. Just more of each, and for longer duration. Body is too used to it, though - so I need to find some different stuff otherwise I'll never break this goddamn barrier I'm hovering at. Legs ARE more toned, less embarrassing in shorts, and I suppose I'll have to be happy with that for the time being, but it's hard not to be discouraged that the poundage isn't changing. Pah.

Thinking of selling the exercise bike which I never use, and getting a little treadmill. SPOUSE is bitching about money these days, so it'll have to wait at least until I get some more freelance work, which has been slow. Again, pah.

It's tru Andraste, you body does get used to doing what it does regularly, you probably need to either incorporate something else into your work out-like running. Or jack up the intensity on certain days, harder than it sounds though. I'd get the t-mill, nothing kicks an arse quite like running.

good week, then, eh?

things here are progressing. the switching of departments slowed it down a bit, and then the gym is closed until a week from monday, but what can you do?

monday - hit the gym, warmed up rowing (5min), then stairs (7min), then did 15 burpees before doing pushups (on the bar), lunges, shoulder press, weighted side bends, 1 arm rows, pull-ups on the gravitron, lat pull-down, bench presses, weighted crunches, and the ab wheel of death. it's my new free-weight work-out, and takes about an hour, but i love it. later that evening went out for 10 miles on the bike.

tuesday - sore as all get out, but biked about 12 miles.

wednesday - tried a 2 mile run, but missed a turn and got all confused... ended up running 1.75 miles instead.

thursday - ran 1.5 miles, and biked 10.

friday - biked 5 miles.

the rest of the weekend - home with some sort of stomach bug that i blame on eating quiche at a potluck dinner friday night.

next week i'm hoping to focus on running and biking, then when the gym re-opens i'll start lifting 2-3 times a week.

Ach, I hear you, burpees are the bane of my life though I rarely include them in my workout diary. I can think of no other exercise that wears me out more, and yet I BELIEVE Crossfit when it tells me they are an excellent way of raising the heart beat. I was even waffling about them to Finn last weekend. But god help me I do about 100 a week-but I hate them so.

100 a week? and here i was feeling proud of 15! i can imagine perhaps 45, max. the thing with burpees is that they sound so relatively easy... and the first couple usually are.... after that it's all downhill.

Oh they so are, I do ten after a run and twenty after the gym normally, and do you know what, I've NEVER improved on them. They suck. And yet I can't say the buggering things are a waste of time. I DO blame crossfit though.
Goodnight, up early tomorrow, or at least that is the plan...

Food has become the most overused drug and the most underused form of nutrition.
Pizza crust, bread, pancakes, and any food that contain sugar
should be taken out and erased from the list
